FC HONKA forward Tim Väyrynen will move from the Espoo-based football club to play for the under-23 side of Borussia Dortmund in 3. Liga, the third division of German football.

In a statement published on Borussia Dortmund's web-page, youth team coach David Wagner describes Väyrynen as a top prospect with a good attitude. Väyrynen's contract with the club will run until the end of 2016.

Borussia Dortmund is among the absolute elite of German football, but, with the transfer of striker Robert Lewandowski to rivals Bayern Munich looming, the club will require reinforcements up front after this season.

Earlier on Friday, Tero Auvinen, the managing director of FC Honka, revealed that Väyrynen will move to a good club and yield an appropriate transfer fee. “He will not be sold for nothing,” underlined Auvinen.

Väyrynen was reportedly a target for a number of European football clubs. After negotiations with several alternatives, the 20-year-old striker decided that a move to Borussia Dortmund is the right move for him.

With 17 goals, Väyrynen was last season's top scorer in Veikkausliiga, the top division of Finnish football. His sale is also a vital boost to FC Honka, which in recent years has suffered from chronic financial difficulties.
