Korean music, gaming and culture will share one stage at Assembly Summer 2026 as the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Finland expands its annual programme into a four-day event.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Finland will launch K-Week x Assembly during Assembly Summer 2026, bringing together K-pop, esports and Korean culture under one programme for the first time.

The event takes place from 30 July to 2 August at Assembly Summer in Helsinki and marks the next step in a partnership that has linked the Embassy with Finland’s gaming community for several years.

The Embassy has organised K-ASSEMBLY and the Korea-Finland Esports Festival as separate annual events. This year both programmes will form part of a wider festival alongside new cultural activities organised with KOTRA Helsinki and Assembly.

The aim is to bring together visitors with an interest in Korean music, gaming, technology and culture in one venue across four days.

The main stage programme begins on Friday, 31 July, at 20:00 with K-ASSEMBLY.

Twenty Finnish K-pop dance cover teams will perform before an audience at Assembly. The event continues a tradition that has reached its tenth year in Finland. Performers will present routines based on songs from leading Korean artists in front of one of the country’s largest gaming festival audiences.

Assembly has confirmed that twenty dance groups will appear during the showcase, making it the largest K-ASSEMBLY programme staged at the event.

The programme shifts to competitive gaming on Saturday, 1 August, at 11:00 with the Korea-Finland Esports Festival.

The tournament links players in Finland and South Korea through online competition while spectators at Assembly follow the matches from a live viewing area inside the event. The competition returns for its seventh edition and reflects the long connection between the two countries through gaming and digital technology.

Last year’s festival took place online, with players competing remotely and broadcasts delivered in Korean and Finnish. This year’s format again combines online competition with a live audience at Assembly, giving visitors the opportunity to follow every match together inside the festival venue.

Alongside the two headline events, visitors will find a K-Culture Booth operating throughout the four-day programme.

The exhibition has been organised by KOTRA Helsinki together with the Embassy and introduces Korean products, food, cosmetics, lifestyle goods and digital content. Interactive activities will also take place throughout the event, giving visitors the opportunity to sample different aspects of Korean culture.

According to the organisers, the booth aims to introduce Finnish consumers to a broad range of Korean products while supporting cultural exchange between the two countries.

K-Week also expands beyond its headline programmes.

A Survival Random Play Dance competition will take place on 30 July, while K-pop Random Play Dance sessions will run from 30 July until 1 August, inviting visitors to take part. The closing ceremony on 2 August will include a K-pop performance by the group NICE.

Assembly remains Finland’s largest gaming festival, bringing together esports competitions, LAN gaming, digital art, technology and entertainment each summer. The addition of K-Week places Korean popular culture alongside the festival’s established gaming programme and widens its international content.

The Embassy states that combining K-pop and esports within one event creates opportunities for people from Finland and South Korea to meet through shared interests. Organisers hope the expanded programme will strengthen cultural links while introducing new visitors to Korean music, gaming and products.

Further information and the complete programme for K-Week x Assembly is available through the Assembly Summer 2026 website.
