F1 2012 (360, PS3, PC)

The most amazing thing about this franchise is how they manage to improve each iteration. LAst year's release was a quality title with realism in spades, but this year Codemasters have pretty much surpassed that as well.

Those of you who have played F1 games know by now what to expect, and if you're a lover of suprememly detailed cars, ultra-realistic handling and more customisation options than you can shake a gearstick at, you're going to love this one, too. One of the best things is the help offered to new drivers. Previous titles have been a bit daunting for the newbie, but 2012 does a fine job of breaking in learners gently. Having said that, to be really good you'll have to know just when to apply the throttle or gently brake - there's no room for the hamfisted around here. Naturally, the graphics are incredible.

Also worthy of mention is an excellent online component as well as a new option to play a co-op career in split screen - also a good laugh with the right gaming buddies. Good ness knows how they'll top this next year, but F1 2012 is an excellent title that should be on every race lovers must-buy list.
