Suomen Kuvalehti has published photos of some of the spoiled votes from Sunday’s first round of the presidential election. 9987 votes, 0.3 per cent of all votes cast, were declared void. This was roughly the same proportion as in the first round of the previous presidential election, in 2006.

In addition to the traditional sheaf of votes for Donald Duck, the doomed nominees included US President Barack Obama, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, and former Finnish President Urho Kekkonen, who left office in 1982 and died in 1986.
