The task force contemplating the final disposal of radioactive waste believes nuclear waste from Fennovoima power plants can be safely stored at the Posiva underground repository in Eurajoki or at a separate repository. The task force refuses to recommend either option, but urges Teollisuuden Voima, Fortum and Fennovoima to continue discussions on final disposal while utilising the expertise and experience at Posiva. The task force submitted its final report to the Minister of Economic Affairs, Jan Vapaavuori (NCP), on Thursday.
