This upcoming winter season, which will begin at the end of October 2023, the Latvian airline airBaltic plans to launch its first-ever domestic flights in Finland, connecting the airline’s Tampere base to the popular resort of Kittila in northern Finland.

Located in the region of Lapland, Kittila is known for its vibrant tourism industry, with many visitors coming to enjoy the region's natural beauty and outdoor activities.

The Levi Ski Resort, one of the largest ski resorts in Finland, offers a wide range of winter sports activities for travellers who are eager to make the most of the colder winter months. Furthermore, Kittila offers a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors looking to explore the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Lapland.

In the airBaltic network, Kittila has already been a popular destination choice among Finnish travellers via the airline’s home base in Riga, where the airline also plans to increase the flight frequency to two times per week for the upcoming winter season. By introducing the new domestic flights, airBaltic hopes that local travellers will now benefit from further convenience and comfort when travelling on this route directly.
