The mercury may climb to around 20–24 degrees Celsius by the end of the this week, says Joanna Rinne, a meteorologist at Foreca.

“The weather maps for next week show that there is a possibility of warmer weather as the low-pressure system in our upper atmosphere loosens its grip and makes way for a possible flow of warm air from the south-east,” she writes in a blog published by the private weather forecasting company.

The low-pressure system that has hovered over the country for the past couple of days will begin to weaken before being reinvigorated by a blast of air from the Caspian Sea. Tuesday will consequently remain cold, rainy and windy, predicts Rinne.

“The impact of the warm air flow is visible in our maps for Wednesday and Thursday as a deeper shade of orange. The clouds will not clear away completely, but drizzles remain a possibility. Temperatures may nevertheless climb above the 20-degree mark in between the showers especially during the weekend,” she says.
