Foul play is suspected in the deaths of the two men whose bodies were found in a flat in Laajasalo, Helsinki, on Sunday.

The bodies were discovered after a bystander made a call to the emergency call centre. “They suspected that something suspicious is going on in the flat,” says senior detective superintendent Petri Rainiala, the officer in charge of the investigation at the Helsinki Police Department.

The times of death of the victims remain unknown for the present. Overall, investigators have remained tight-lipped about the suspected double homicide, with Rainiala emphasising to Helsingin Sanomat on Monday that the pre-trial investigation is only in its early stages.

No arrests have according to him been made in connection with the incident, nor has the course of events leading up to the incident been determined. The victims of the suspected double homicide were both adults.

The possible criminal charges will be specified as the investigation progresses, said Rainiala.
