The Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Vienna next spring, organisers confirmed on Wednesday.

Austria earned hosting rights after its representative JJ, full name Johannes Pietsch, won the 2025 contest with Wasted Love. The victory marked Austria’s third Eurovision win in the competition’s history.

The 2026 edition will be the 70th in Eurovision’s history.

The shows will be staged at the Wiener Stadthalle, a multi-purpose indoor arena in the Austrian capital. The two semi-finals are scheduled for 12 and 14 May, followed by the grand final on 16 May.

Vienna has hosted Eurovision twice before, in 1967 and 2015. Innsbruck was also a candidate city for the upcoming contest, but Austria’s national broadcaster ORF selected Vienna as the host.

This will be Austria’s third time welcoming the competition since its debut in 1957.
