VR the world’s best rail company, says the India Times
The India Times has ranked Finland’s national operator Valtion rautatiet (VR) top of the list in its online ranking of rail companies. The ranking is based on technology, ticket prices, routes, passenger services, and comfort.
Finland, according to the India Times, ‘is one of those countries that just works; it’s exceptionally clean, efficient and trouble-free and the state-owned VR Group is no different.’
Australian Great Southern Rail Limited came second in the list, and Spain’s AVE third. The result, which will undoubtedly be met with a splutter by more than a few VR customers, was first reported in the Finnish media by the Ilta-Sanomat today.
