Kauppalehti reported today on a survey by the Federation of Finnish Enterprises that paints an unflattering and pessimistic picture of the prospects for the next generation of Finnish entrepreneurs in the small- and medium-sized sector.
According to the survey, the lack of professional skills and even life skills among young adults is a serious barrier to their finding work. As part of the solution to the problem, the Federation proposes that pay levels for inexperienced and unskilled be delinked from the collective agreement on wage levels.
The survey claims are a repeat of the suggestion of the Federation’s vice director Timo Lindholm a week ago that youth below the age of twenty should be paid less than the minimum wage.
