Rovio has found that Angry Birds is not just a game; it is also a lucrative brand that sells in all types of formats.
ROVIO’S Angry Birds is expanding its empire. The company has announced a licensing deal with the playground manufacturer Lappset, and it is also looking elsewhere. Fazer and Rovio have signed an agreement to develop and sell Angry Birds-themed candy, and the new confectionaries are planned to be in stores in June 2012.

Rantala told Helsingin Sanomat that Fazer will create the new flavours, while Rovio will supply the characters. He went on to add that the sweets will include all the same characters as in the games, which will presumably include the birds and the pigs. Two different types of sugar confectionary are planned.
