The famous transgender priest has returned to work after a leave of absence, reports the Tampere-based daily Aamulehti.

“Today Marja-Sisko Aalto returned to work after a year’s leave of absence and a sex change operation.

That is why people came from as far as Kouvola to the Tainionkoski church at Imatra.

Also Esa and Riitta Viitala came from Kouvola. ‘It felt good to come and attend the service. This was a brave move for Marja-Sisko Aalto. It shows that she dares to be herself,’ Esa Viitala said.”

“The church service went peacefully. There were over 100 people in attendance, which was a little bit more than on an average Sunday.

Many representatives of the media were also there.”
