Kari Kärkkäinen, Christian Democrat MP, is considering defecting to the Centre, according to reports in Finnish regional daily Savon Sanomat on Wednesday.

According to the paper, Kärkkäinen is still deciding whether he is to run as a candidate in April's general elections and on which party list.

Kärkkäinen would not be the first to defect from the Christian Democrats, but the majority of previous cases have defected to the National Coalition.
