The Finnish arm of Nordic gym group Sats said in a statement Thursday the company had decided to remove all sunbeds from its gyms over a World Health Organisation (WHO) report released earlier this year.

The WHO had classified sunbeds use as "clearly carcinogenic" in July, with the Nordic radiation watchdogs saying last week that sunbeds could have "severe negative health effects".

Sats added the sunbeds would be removed by 1 December.
