A record number of people contacted the ombudsman for minorities this year, according to a statement on Wednesday by current ombudsman Eva Biaudet.

By the end of August, over 700 people had contacted the ombudsman. Last year, the figure for January-August was around 650.

The human rights of the Roma beggars have been a more popular topic this year than in previous years.
