Chief Inspector Jari Aarnio, head of the Helsinki drug squad, told commercial broadcaster MTV3 on Monday that he is to leave his post as the head of the drug squad.

Aarnio has been in the public eye during recent years due to suspected malfeasance within his the Helsinki drug squad, but assures MTV3 that these allegations had nothing to do with his decision leave the police. The case was dismissed by the district court.
