The Finnish police college said in a statement Tuesday it had received 817 applications by its February deadline, up from 530 in the year-ago period.
"It is particularly pleasing that the applicant numbers for Swedish-language training are rising clearly," said Jouko Pohjoismäki, the head of the college's admissions department.
Police training applicant numbers have been rising since 2008.
