Finnish chemicals group Kemira on Thursday reported its second-quarter pretax profit rising to about 37 million euros from some 21 million in the year-ago period.

April-to-June sales rose by 12 per cent year-on-year to about 545 million euros.
"The recovery in demand that started at the end of the first quarter continued in the second quarter," Harri Kerminen, the managing director of Kemira, said in a statement.

Kemira raised its full-year outlook.
