On January 29th 2009, the ICT Demo Center opened its doors. This non-profit organisation is founded by 7 private companies. For today over 40 companies are joined and more than 250 solutions are represented.
The showroom is divided into six areas (home, work, street, forest, school, state) in which different solutions are proposed. The ICT Demo Center is the best opportunity to show the pulic and private ICT solutions created in Estonia and see them functioning together. At any time, companies can join the showroom and install new products, the list of partners and services are never ending.
In one year, the number of visitors at Demo Center was growing very fast, more than 1500 international visitors and around 2000 local visitors. They are official state or business delegations, local authorities, companies, industry unions, press, universities. On November 12th 2009, the ICT Demo Center was visited by finnish prime minister Matti Vanhanen who was particularly interested in id-card solutions, e-health and e-voting.
Co-operation, innovation and exports are the key words in Demo Center. It is the first time in Estonia that companies from the same field do something together, they are not competitors anymore but they want to co-operate together with their products on the market. Demo Center wants also to help the Estonian ICT solutions to export. By co-operating, companies could offer innovative solutions for local consumers but also to export outside Estonia.
Latest project Demo Center Export Cluster including 22 private companies and two universities will be launched in March 2010.
