HJK's 18-year-old forward Joel PohjanpaloGermany's top-tier football club Bayer Leverkusen snapped up HJK's 18-year-old forward Joel Pohjanpalo yesterday – the final day of the summer transfer window – on a one-season loan deal with an option to sign. In Germany, Pohjanpalo will initially play for the second-tier club VfR Aalen. “He's a very skillful striker and advanced for his age. We will keep a close eye on him in Aalen and we are confident Joel can become a very promising player for us,” Sami Hyypiä, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen and former Finnish international, views on the club's web-page. Pohjanpalo made his breakthrough last season, scoring 11 goals for HJK.
