Sauli Niinistö, the President of Finland, urges policy-makers to refrain from discussing child welfare issues. Instead, the issues should be left to child welfare authorities, Niinistö stressed during the presidential couple’s visit to Norway. On the basis of his earlier discussions with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, Niinistö believes the ongoing child welfare debate will not hamper Finland’s relationship with Russia.
