UberX and Uber Black to be available in Helsinki from Today

Uber suspended its operations in Finland last year after authorities, under pressure from traditional taxi companies, cracked down on Uber drivers for not having a taxi license. A couple of Uber drivers were made an example of by being prosecuted in the courts and sentenced to lose income and pay hefty fines.

Finland changed taxi and ride-hailing regulations this June. Now anyone can drive a taxi and pricing is also free.

Uber Technologies Inc.'s new executive, Dara Khosroshahi has pursued a policy of repairing relationships with local authorities in several places where Uber had faced restrictions and fines. London also got it’s Uber services restored after Uber apologised and made improvements in background checks for drivers.
